Department of Student Life and Engagement

Named after the founder and former Chairperson of Prime Education Group, Late Prof. Dr. Sundar Shyam Bhakta Mathema, the Mathema Learning Resource Center was founded to streamline and modernize the learning process for all undergraduate and graduate students at Prime College.

The board objective of MLRC is to fill the gap between prescribed coursework and real-world requirements. In order to achieve this goal, we offer our students various value-added courses, workshops, and training.

1. Engagement & Outreach Office (EOO)

Oversees student representation, volunteering, social initiatives, and alumini engagement

2. Ethics and Standard Office (ESO)

Focuses on wellness, inclusion, ethical conduct, counselling services, and peer support initiatives.

3. Mathema Learning Resource Center (MLRC)

Supports students through its library, research initiatives, and various value-added courses ranging from technical training to professional skill development.

4. Office of Travel and Culture (OTC)

Oganizes tours, cultural programs, exchange visits, and experiential learning activities.

5. Prime Career Center

Supports students through career counselling, internship placement, job preparation, and industry partnerships.

6. Student Clubs & Leadership Division

Manages club operations, inter-college activities, leadership development programs, and training.

Engagement & Outreach Office (EOO)

The Engagement & Outreach Office works to strengthen college identity and build meaningful connections among students, faculty, alumni, and the wider community. It leads major student-centered activities, coordinates institutional events, and ensures that students experience a vibrant, welcoming college environment filled with opportunities for involvement.

Major Activities:

  • Orientation and induction programs for new students
  • Prime annual events, celebrations, and cultural festivals
  • Alumni engagement, volunteering, and community outreach
  • Coordination of student representation in internal and external platforms

Ethics and Standard Office (ESO)

The Ethics and Standard Office focus on strengthening student well-being, inclusion, and holistic development. It provides guidance and support through counselling, wellness programs, and initiatives that create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Major Activities:

  • Counseling services and mental health support
  • Health awareness, wellness sessions, and fitness programs
  • Initiatives promoting inclusion, safety, and accessibility
  • Facilitation of peer support and student assistance networks

Mathema Learning Resource Center (MLRC)

Named in honor of Late Prof. Dr. Sundar Shyam Bhakta Mathema, the MLRC serves as a comprehensive academic support hub that enhances students’ learning experience beyond classroom instruction. It brings together the college library, research resources, and an extensive range of value-added courses and training programs aimed at skill development and academic enrichment.

    Prime College’s library is for all resident members of the college. We are constantly upgrading our library facilities to help the students in their academic areas and gain extra inspiration to innovate innovative ideas.

Value Added Courses & Training Division

Prime College provides students with innumerable opportunities which help them grow and strengthen the skills required for a successful future. With a wide range of activities and training, Prime College strives to develop versatility amongst the students to help them propel them to new heights. Prime aspires to provide special training and workshops to students to boost their “Hard” and “Soft” skills. Hard Skills are associated with technical knowledge and abilities required when performing a specific job. These skills are easy to measure, observe and quantify and are often used to single out the candidates during an interview. The Value-Added Courses that focus on these skills include everything from Stock Market Investment training to Coding in Python. However, soft skills are often intangible and associated with non-technical abilities. These skills include personal qualities or attributes that make a candidate a suitable team member to work within an organization. Numerous value-added courses take place to highlight and improve the unique skill sets of students. This may include:

Office of Travel and Culture (OTC)

The Office of Travel and Culture create transformative learning experiences through travel-based education and cultural engagement. It provides students with opportunities to explore new environments, understand diverse cultures, and gain real-world exposure that complements academic learning.

Major Activities:

  • Academic tours, field visits, and experiential learning trips
  • Domestic and international student exchange programs
  • Cultural immersion programs, heritage events, and celebrations
  • Partnerships with institutions and travel networks for enhanced learning experiences

Prime Career Center (PCC)

The Prime Career Center supports students in preparing for the world of work by offering professional guidance, internship pathways, and industry exposure. It connects academic learning with real-world opportunities, helping students develop confidence and clarity in their career direction.

Major Activities:

  • Career counseling, CV building, and portfolio development
  • Internship coordination and placement assistance
  • Employer networking, company tie-ups, and career fairs
  • Alumni mentorship and industry interaction sessions

Student Clubs & Leadership Division (SCL)

The Student Clubs & Leadership Division plays a central role in promoting leadership, teamwork, and co-curricular excellence. It supervises all student clubs, facilitates leadership development, and encourages students to participate actively in programs that build confidence and collaboration.

Major Activities:

  • Oversight and capacity-building support for all student clubs
  • Leadership, communication, and personal development training
  • Inter-college collaborations, competitions, and student-led events
  • Performance evaluation and recognition of clubs and student leade
