Hello, I’m Lijaa Manandhar, currently working as a Project Coordinator and Associate Project Manager at LIS Nepal. I hold a BSc. CSIT degree from Prime College, and my background is centered around project management with valuable experience in the retail industry.
My career path has been dynamic and purposeful. While initially aspiring to be a software developer, my time at Prime College unveiled my talent for event management. Realizing my managerial aptitude, I transitioned from a software developer to a program officer role at Innovative Solution. This shift proved instrumental in aligning my career with my strengths. Subsequently, joining LIS Nepal as a Project Operation Assistant marked the beginning of my ascent, ultimately leading to my current role as Project Coordinator and Associate Project Manager. This journey underscores my adaptability and commitment to pursuing roles that resonate with my evolving professional interests.
One particularly memorable experience from Prime College that significantly influenced my career path was my involvement in ICT V 4.0. Serving as a volunteer for this major event exposed me to the intricacies of event management and networking. Throughout the event, I had the opportunity to engage with numerous industry professionals. Collaborating with my seniors during the event, I gained invaluable insights into the importance and benefits of networking in the professional world. This experience not only broadened my understanding of the industry but also played a pivotal role in shaping my perspective and approach towards my career.

As the former president of the Prime IT Club, the experience significantly shaped my career in the IT industry. Leading the club sharpened my leadership and organizational skills as I coordinated various events and projects. It provided me with a platform to network with fellow students, faculty, and professionals in the IT field, broadening my understanding of industry trends and challenges. Managing the club’s activities also improved my project management and teamwork abilities. Moreover, the role allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, reinforcing my academic learning.
Overall, being the president of the Prime IT Club not only enriched my skill set but also deepened my passion for the IT industry, setting a strong foundation for my career growth.
As a member of the Prime College Alumni Association’s executive board, I aim to strengthen alumni connections through regular networking events and an online platform. My vision is to create a vibrant community where alumni can share experiences, achievements, and opportunities. By fostering meaningful interactions, we can build a strong and supportive network, enhancing the overall success and unity of our alumni community.
Looking back at my time at Prime College, there’s a funny moment from when we were at Krishna’s house working on our project. Our project was all about pictures and videos, and we needed to take different photos to train the AI. When it was my turn, not knowing how to pose, I just started dancing instead. It made everyone laugh, turning our work session into an unexpected dance party. It lightened the mood and became a fun memory, showing how we could enjoy ourselves even during serious project work.
For recent graduates aspiring to make a positive impact in the IT industry, I would advise them to prioritize continuous learning. Stay up to date on industry trends, technologies, and certifications to remain relevant. Cultivate strong communication and collaboration skills, as teamwork is crucial in IT. Seek mentorship from experienced professionals to gain insights and guidance. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and don’t shy away from sharing your ideas. Lastly, be adaptable in the dynamic IT landscape and always strive for innovation that contributes meaningfully to the industry.
