How I found friends for life or rather prefer to call them “My second family”?
During my time at Prime College, I had the opportunity to be an active member of the Prime IT Club, one of the most dynamic student organizations on campus. I joined the club in August 2021 as a General Member (GM), where I took part in numerous events as a volunteer. These experiences allowed me to connect closely with senior members, who mentored and encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new challenges.
After two years as a GM, I decided to run for an executive position within the club. Despite being an outgoing person or an extrovert, the interview for the executive role was one of the most nerve-wracking moments of my time there. Fortunately, my efforts paid off, and I was selected as the Event Management Director. With the support of my incredible colleagues, I successfully organized several events during my tenure. I had the privilege of serving in this position for two terms, which greatly enriched my college experience.
Winning the Best Club of the Year title for 2022–2023 was one of my favorite experiences during my time with Prime IT Club. This honor represented the peak of the collective effort, commitment, and collaboration that every member put in to ensure the success of our events. Every decision we made, from organizing technical workshops to collaborating with other departments for major events, was focused on enhancing both the club and the student community.
In 2023–2024, we won the Best Club of the Year title again, which reaffirmed our continued dedication, teamwork, and strong sense of camaraderie. This recognition was a reflection of the hard work of both executives and general members, whose commitment to excellence made every event memorable. Winning this award for two consecutive years validated all of our late nights, long planning sessions, and the challenges we overcame as a team. These achievements will always have a special place in my heart, reminding me of what a group of passionate individuals can accomplish together.
I also had the incredible opportunity to teach students who had just completed their Secondary Education Examination (SEE). This experience was both rewarding and eye-opening, as it allowed me to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years while also sharpening my own skills as a mentor. Teaching these students not only required a deep understanding of the subject matter but also the ability to break down complex concepts into more digestible, easy-to-understand lessons.
Engaging with younger students at such a crucial stage in their academic journey was a fulfilling experience. It gave me a chance to positively influence their learning path, helping them navigate the challenges of transitioning from school to higher education. Watching them grow, ask insightful questions, and develop a genuine interest in the subject was one of the most satisfying parts of the process. This teaching experience also enhanced my communication skills and reinforced my belief in the importance of giving back to the community through education.
Memorable Moments
The moments that stand out the most for me were the strong bonds formed with fellow club members, the camaraderie during planning sessions, and the occasional panics when things didn’t go according to plan during events. Those moments of managing crises on the fly were both stressful and memorable, but they taught me valuable lessons in teamwork and problem-solving.
One such instance was during the ICT Meetup V7.0, where one of our speakers canceled at the last minute. Managing the audience while handling other ongoing parallel sessions became an overwhelming experience. However, with the support of the team, we managed to adapt quickly, rearranging the schedule and ensuring the event continued smoothly. This unexpected challenge taught me a lot about leadership under pressure and the importance of staying calm during unforeseen circumstances.
The year 2023/2024 was also a highlight for the club in terms of bonding. We had the most interactions between executive and general members, whether it was during event planning, after-event gatherings, or simply brainstorming sessions. These connections helped strengthen the club and created a supportive environment where everyone contributed to our collective success.
Apart from the challenges and opportunities, I found friends for life through shared experiences and collaboration. Working together on projects and events created a strong bond, as we faced challenges and celebrated successes as a team. Late-night planning sessions, after-event hangouts, and casual brainstorming brought us closer, building genuine friendships. These connections went beyond just club activities, forming a support system that made college life more enjoyable. The relationships I formed in Prime IT Club are ones I know will last long after our time at college.
Future Plans
I’m now gaining hands-on expertise developing mobile applications at Galli Express Pvt. Ltd. as a Junior Flutter Developer. Creating and managing applications that offer smooth user experiences is part of my job, and it has greatly expanded my knowledge of mobile app development.
My goals for the future center on advancing and improving my expertise in this area. I’m dedicated to keeping up with the most recent frameworks, tools, and best practices in Flutter development as mobile technology advances quickly. My objective is to become proficient with Flutter’s more complex features, like performance optimization, third-party service integration, and in-depth cross-platform exploration.
In addition, I want to become a more versatile developer by expanding my understanding of several mobile platforms and programming languages. I want to contribute to more creative and significant projects by continuously pushing myself to learn and grow, and eventually I want to lead teams and assume more responsibility in the field. Since the world of mobile app development is always evolving, I’m eager to keep learning, growing, and expanding my career in this exciting sector.
Suggestions for Upcoming Students
For future students, I strongly recommend joining a student club. Being part of an organization like Prime IT Club not only enhances your college experience but also fosters holistic personal and professional growth. The practical skills you gain through organizing events, working in teams, and solving real-world problems are invaluable. Clubs offer a platform to develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities—skills that are essential for your future career but are often not fully developed in the classroom alone.
On a more personal level, student clubs are a great way to build lasting friendships and create a strong support network. You’ll meet peers who share similar interests, and through collaboration and shared experiences, you’ll form bonds that go beyond academics. Whether it’s through event planning, after-event gatherings, or simply hanging out between meetings, these connections will enrich your college life. Joining a club like Prime IT allows you to make the most of your time at college, leaving you with cherished memories and a sense of accomplishment that extends beyond graduation.
