Reflections on My Journey at Prime College | Smriti Maharjan, BBA 2076 Batch

As I (Smriti Maharjan) approach the end of my program at BBA Prime College, I begin to understand and appreciate the experiences, especially my friends, who have assisted in making me who I am today. It has been my privilege to be a student in the BBA 2076 Batch, where I underwent personal development, encountered some adversities, and created memorable experiences.

My Overall Experience

When I first joined Prime College, I was filled with excitement and nervousness, unsure of what lay ahead. However, from the beginning, Prime College welcomed me with open arms and provided an environment that nurtured academic growth and personal development. The faculty’s vast knowledge and guidance helped me discover that learning is fun. Thanks to the balanced curriculum, I gained the ability to think critically, solve practical problems, and prepare for the demands of the working world. The support and resources available at Prime, from the library to the career counseling services, ensured that I was always on the right track.

Besides knowledge, the bonds developed were the most significant gains of learning as much as academics were. These friendships were my most excellent choices, whether for project collaborations or meals after a long day of classes. They brightened the most precious moments and offered happiness even on the worst days. We had some of the best and worst college experiences together, which added to the whole experience.

Memorable Moments

Among the many activities organized during my time in Prime, I would like to mention the Aspire 2022 event held at Islington College. Working with talented individuals from other colleges helped me learn different approaches to solving problems and tackling projects in a group. It was challenging and very fulfilling at the same time, forcing me to be creative and flexible on the job.

Also, I could participate in several events arranged by Prime College, where I was involved as a volunteer. These events offered me a feeling of responsibility and acting like a leader. These volunteering experiences helped me learn event management and teamwork and brought me closer to my peers and faculties.

I also had the experience of attending a Design Thinking workshop where I learned how to solve problems using creative solutions. I found this particular workshop inspiring as it helped me see how design thinking can be used when addressing business concerns, thus strengthening my desire to work in this field.

I also had the opportunity to intern as an Admin Lead for the MLRC department. The role helped me develop my time and team management skills, organization, and leadership by working in a constantly changing environment. It has been an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience, as it prepared me for real-life situations and developed my professional competencies.

Future Plans

With my graduation behind me, I am excited about the road ahead. I plan to pursue a career in SEO and digital marketing, building on the foundation that Prime College has provided. I am eager to further my education and skills in these areas and eventually contribute to the business world with innovative marketing solutions. The vital business insight I have gained at Prime College will serve as my guiding compass in whatever endeavor I pursue next.

Suggestions for Upcoming Students

I offer advice for Prime College students: make the most of your time here. Engage in as many extracurricular activities as possible and form meaningful connections with your peers and professors. These experiences will not only enrich your college life but will also provide invaluable lessons beyond the classroom. Always be open to learning and never hesitate to ask questions; curiosity is the key to growth. And most importantly, take advantage of every opportunity the college provides, from internships to workshops, as these will significantly shape your professional journey. I suggest upcoming juniors to pursue an internship in a related field earlier in their bachelor’s life so that their skills and experience will help them get a job by the final year, making the transition smoother into the working world.
