A day out with Prime Family | Durga Thapa

Located up in the hills of Nagarjun municipality, Kathmandu District, Switzerland Park is a popular picnic spot near the Kathmandu Valley. On Poush 14, 2080, we set off for a picnic there, filled with excitement and ready to make some great memories with my friends.

I woke up early, eager for the day ahead. After getting my chores done, I reached Prime College at 8:00 AM. We had everything planned out for our meals: Pragina ma’am took care of breakfast and snacks, while the college canteen prepred lunch as required.

Our journey started at 9:00 AM, taking a bus ride from Prime College. We passed through Swoyambhu, Kalanki, and LRI School, finally arriving at Switzerland Park around 10:30 AM. The place was beautiful, surrounded by greenery.

We quickly set up our spot and enjoyed a tasty breakfast of Jerry and Puri with veggies, eggs, and malpuwa. We even took a short walk to Bindabaseeni Mandir, enjoying the peaceful forest path.

Back at our spot, we relaxed, snacked, and played games like cards and Ludo. Some of us even danced in the sunny weather. After lunch, we still had plenty of food left, so we packed it up and went to Kalupandey Dada, a historical site named after a soldier of Prithivi Narayan Shah. From there, we saw amazing views of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur.

As the day came to an end, we headed home with happy hearts and wonderful memories of our fun-filled day at Switzerland Park.
